Young Lives, Young Futures project's first Youth Advisory Group and Advisory Panel convened at the Edge Foundation's London offices in December 2019.
Morning Session
Led by two of the project team members (Meg and Alice), the Youth Advisory Group met to discuss the barriers that young people face at key education transition points, focusing on the dominance of university pathways in school-led career discussions.
Afternoon Session
The Youth Advisory Group joined the Advisory Panel and the remainder of the project team in the afternoon with three main discussion goals:
sharing on and discussing the main takeaways from the morning Youth Advisory Group session,
reviewing and providing feedback on the main project proposal,
and reviewing the project's draft interview questions, ensuring that they are appropriate for all future interviewees (young people, policymakers and practitioners).
