Sharon Gewirtz talks to Kantar Public

A girl wearing a school uniform sits at her desk in a school classroom with her head resting on her hand. She looks as if she is falling asleep.

Sharon Gewirtz features in the latest issue of the Kantar Public journal. She talks about Young Lives, Young Futures, and addressing inequalities in access to good quality vocational education, training and employment in the UK.

Interviewed by Alex Thornton, who is the director of Kantar Public, Sharon argues that education policy needs to be more sensitive to the diverse views and needs of young people today. She suggests that policymakers need to reach out to young people, and incorporate their perspectives of young people into the policies they create.

She also questions whether it's useful to think of education and work as entirely separate entities.
